  • There is Great Money in Food!

A lucrative career for anyone who is good at sales is to become a representative for a niche food item. I know a guy who is known as Mr. Tortilla. He goes around to food shows around the country and displays tortillas from a certain manufacturer. Every order now around the country that is placed for these tortillas ends up paying him.

The key is to find a good product that no one else is selling and convince the manufacturer that they need a food rep. Then start with small grocery stores. At first, you won't make much money and you will have to work hard. But the beauty of the system is that once a place starts selling the item, you get paid for every order. Even if the retailer is buying direct from the manufacturer, if you were the one to first make the connection, then you get a cut for ever.

If you can sign up five stores a day, you are doing great. At the end of a week, you will have twenty-five stores as clients. You can earn up to $500 per store, depending on the product. That's $15,000 for one week's worth of labor! The next week, when you sign up another twenty-five, you will make $30,000. As long as you signed up the store, you are the one who gets the commission. (In this example, we are assuming that the grocery store sells 500 of the item/week and that your commission is $1. Your actual take will be more or less depending on the item you are repping).

The sky is really the limit. You can rep multiple products and make multiple commissions. Finally, when your product is nationally known, you can sit back and count your money. And yes, you can also eat as much of the product as you want!

  • Be a Guide -- A Guide to Wealth!

One of my friends has made a small fortune by doing something that he doesn't even consider work! He is always surrounded by friends and going on vacations to exotic destinations. How does he do it? Simple, he is a tour guide.

People today want to travel. They want to see all sorts of places around the world and do fun things. Yet they are afraid to go by themselves. They are more than willing to pay up to $1,000 per day to have someone travel with them and take them to interesting places.

What is amazing is that you really don't have to go to school to become a tour guide. Just do a lot of reading and some traveling on your own. If you can check out a travel guide from the library and memorize the fun stuff, you already will know far more than most people who want to travel.

The key is to make sure your clients have a really good time. Get to know them and find what kind of vacation they prefer. If they just want to relax, find the nicest white sand beach and take them. If they are into adventure, find a place to rent mountain bikes or go rock climbing. The bottom line is that they will relax more knowing that you, the all-around expert, are with them.

Don't forget, clients pay for all expenses of the guides. That means airline tickets, food, lodging, and entry passes to attractions. This is on top of the daily fee they pay you. If you like people and like to travel, you should not hesitate to look into becoming a professional tour guide.

  • It's the Curtains

Loyal readers of this blog will know that for the last seven months, I
have been building a new home. As I wrote in a prvious post, I moved
in in September althugh the work was not yet complete. Now, it is
almost eight months later, and the work is still not complete. But I
    feel we are almost there.

Today, the electricians are here. Now to me, electricians are like
wizards. I ahve no idea what they are doing. My lights worked before
they came, and they will work when they leave. But in the meantime, i
am operating on battery power since they have shut all the electricty
in the house down while they do whatever they do inside the walls.

I also ordered the last window curtains today. Believe it or not, window
curtains can be one of the most expensive parts of a new house. Now I
know why so many people have taped newspaper up over their windows for
over a year. You can't do nothing. Everyone can look right into your
house. You wake up in the morning and go to take a shower and everyne
can see you stark naked! (O.K., so some people like that. I am not one
    of them.)

Yet I was shocked when I found out how expensive even the cheapest
shades were for the windows. Of course I had to order them. Besides
privacy, I can't work when the sun is beating down through the window
on my comuter screen. I have tried all sorts of things, but I think
the only real option is to bite the bullet and get the curtains.

So I have always said that when you are a freelance writer, you can
always get out of debt br writing more. It is actually a pretty good
job to have when you are building a new house. So, I spent a little
more than my budget (well, about twice as much as my budget!) But that
just means I need to put together a whole bunch more late nights and
keep plugging away at my computer keyboard.

  • Dogs and Dry Cleaning!

If you want to make some quick money without a lot of risk, I may have
an idea for you. Many people have tried this and not everyone has
gotten rich. But, if you really work at it, there is no reason why you
can't be making thousands of dollars a day while sitting back and
    relaxing.

The name of the game is personal services. You see, in our current,
fast-paced economy, no one has time for the little things. Busy people
simply don't have the time to run personal errands. So everything from
walking the dog to picking up the dry cleaning gets forgotten. This is
not good! Dogs have to be walked and dry cleaning has to be picked
up. Here's where you, or I should say your company, comes in.

Walk down a street in an upper middle class neighborhood and explain
to everyone that you can take care of all their needs for a nominal
fee. There is no end to the options you can offer them. You can mow
lawns, watch children, do food shopping. All for a few dollars here
and there. You will be amazed at how many people take you up on your
offer. If you do it right, you should sign up people within twenty
minutes. Work for eight hours and you now have twenty-four clients,
each one paying about $20 a day for various services.

Now you may ask where you will find the time to do all the things you
promise. The truth is, you don't. You hire college students and
retired people very cheaply. You can have one college students walk
four dogs at once. If you charged $10/day for the service, your gross
income is $40. Pay the student $10 to walk the dogs around the block
and you are now making $30 doing.... nothing.

Obviously, the more clients you have, the richer you will become. So
stop sitting around. In a few months you could be raking it in big
    time.
