Selling replacement windows because it is easy money is not a good reason. This is because it is not easy. This article is correct when it says there is money to be made in selling windows. People do need them, and they are willing to pay for them. However, if you are selling a high quality window and charging a premium, you had better know what you are talking about. Customers want someone who can educate them about the windows and the process and provide the best solution for their needs.

If you can not prove you know what you are doing, you will be out of business quickly. The same is true for the installation. A good installer is as important as the window. Hiring just anyone to install is a path to disaster. The good installers charge accordingly so you will have a tough time getting the mark up you want in the installation. DO NOT skimp on the installation quality or you will find yourself in more problems than you can count.

Finally, you will need to get a dealer agreement with a window company to buy the windows at a price where you can mark them up to make a profit. Dealer agreements don't grow on trees so you will have to work to find one to work with you. After you find windows to sell you have to figure out freight, service, and scheduling your installations. Past that its easy money.

I personally believe the theme of this article is right: there is money to be made in replacement windows. I started my own company to replace windows for this very reason. However, I have eight years in the industry and it has taken me a year to get my company going. You can make money in windows, just be prepared to earn it.

I read a few posts on both your blogs and they are very interesting. (Any thing related to money is always interesting ;))

I really like the idea about making money by eating out. This idea can especially be useful for working moms, as they can spend less time buying groceries, making food and washing dishes and utilize this time in something more productive. Also, eating out is not always expensive, a good and fulfilling meal can be had at reasonable prices. Better yet, to same more money, you can get something delivered for free to your home, which will save you the time and effort you may have to put it to drive to the restaurant.
